Hello Friends,
The placement of the planets in the night sky has always been a study by ancient civilizations. They believed the alignments and aspects of the heavens impacted their lives on an individual basis, as well as on a group or country level.
Astrologers were actually astronomers first. They were very often present in a king's/queen's court. The influence of astronomy still exists today in our traditions. For example, Easter Sunday is always the first Sunday after the first full moon, after the Spring Equinox.
Venus has been retrograde since mid-March and will go direct on April 17. It is a good period to reflect on your values, and review your relationships. Retrogrades are like that - whereby review, introspection, revisit, and research work best until the planet moves direct. Starting new relationships, buying art or jewelry or other "Venusian" activities are not recommended. You can read more about Venus Retrograde here.
The moon dates for this month are as follows:
April 9:
Full Moon 20º Libra
April 24:
New Moon 5º Taurus
Happy Birthday to all the Taurus readers! The sun actually enters Taurus in the evening on April 19th for the US, and the early hours of the 20th for our readers in Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus.
To the Greeks, Taurus is associated with Zeus and his transformation into a Snowy White Bull. The Egyptians gave great significance to this sky cluster in both religion and astrology calling it the great starry Bull of the Nile.
