me & My Ego

Where would I be without My deductive reasoning: the bodily and mental specifications by which the “i” I Creates, Lives, Moves and has Its Being in me? I recognize the whole of God’s creation and therefore appreciate this thing we’ve come to call the “ego” too. If indeed earth is a school and our true purpose is to come to know The Source of All Things through our own experience, then by necessity or by default a separate self must exist for the scenario.

My ego is ceaselessly analytical and I love it. Through great effort, I’ve learned to value the impulses of my personality while balancing them to favor, in fact enhance, the motives of altruistic urges inspired by The Source of All Things. This is what I live and teach through the manifestation of The Life in me. Walking, talking, playing, working, praying, or entertaining, my practice is to love My ego. Remember, all we have and all that is here for us is to serve us. When the ego is unloved by its guardian, it becomes a relentlessly insatiable, perpetual addict aimlessly in search of love on our behalf. If The Source of All Things is a stranger to our minds, the only identity it knows is ego, and though limited in time and space, it emerges full force in a futile effort to redeem, or destroy us depending on your view.

This is why the ego gets a “bad rap” as being manipulative, but what pray tell ‘manipulates’ The Source of All Things? The purpose of the ego for the indwelling Source of All Things in Us is akin to a GPS system in a car. Just as many people prefer the GPS to drive the car in order to partake in a mindless life journey living in the future or the past instead of the moment, so too do many of us prefer the ego to constitute the whole of our identity while on earth instead of using the ego as the navigational apparatus it is to deliver real-time signals to let us know where we are in relation to manifesting the presence of God in our Now Experience.

Trusting in a loving Source, I believe out of it’s own desperation to simulate communion with The Source of All Things, the ego goes full throttle into autopilot in a futile effort to redeem us. It only runs amuck like this when it operates outside of its purpose, therefore it behooves One to know the ego’s purpose because ego-pleasing gets confused with communing with The Source of All Things, and there is no substitute for communion. Due to the ego’s soulful limitations, circuitry within the body-mind embeds itself as repetitive pleasure-seeking mental/emotional programs instead of actual evolving experiences with the divine.

Each moment of the awareness that my ego is superbly designed to let me know when communion with God is interrupted I say “Thank you, Ego”. When my hair doesn’t look right, my body doesn’t feel exuberantly healthy, I feel envious and lacking in some way, or fixated to a humorless fantasy, I’m grateful for my ego guiding system I’ve been given to get back to communing with The Source of All Things walking, talking, playing, working, praying, or entertaining. Wherever I am, or what ever I’m doing, I know once again, in yet another form, I’ve passed the perennial earth school Spirit Over Illusion Test: I AM loved no matter what; I AM love no matter what.

It is true: free will empowers us to choose what drives us each moment. Life is a great learning adventure for which we have been given all that we need for the journey. Choose to embrace the gift of your personality and the worthiness of its expression through the supreme guidance of The Source of All Things; live YOUR Greatest Hour every hour & BE Blessed!
