Hi Pat,
Did you look more into graphics software? I'd be curious as what you found out. If it works on a PC, that is.
I have a couple of books on quilting with different versions of the same patterns. These fascinate me. I have the desire to make quilts but not the expectation of really doing it. I've had the idea to do some paper versions using hand painted paper. I read that there is software specifically for quilting and think that could be lots of fun to play with.
Glad you liked it Patricia, you're welcome. I want to go to Batya's studio and see her work "live." She is a couple of hours drive away from me so that won't happen too soon.
I'm pleased that you can also feel a nudge toward going to a new level with your work. How nice. When that happens I will get a kick out of having been teeny bit useful.
I have been doodling on scraps of paper, edges of pages of notes taken during meetings and so on for as long as I can remember. Little abstract geometric figures and bits of flowers. Just a few days ago I was thinking of scaling up and actually doing some drawing--maybe I will play with circle forms. You have inspired me! I also recently bought a set of acrylic paints as a nudge to myself. I haven't owned much less used any paints in many years. Last time I painted anything must have been 30 years ago...
Your mandalas surprised me. They are so different from what I was expecting. I especially like the ones with swirling colors, gives an optical illusion effect. I was trying to understand what I was seeing. Are these photos of needlework or drawings of needlework or...?
I love your products. What a great way to use your art.
Oh my goodness, that is such an innocent question Patricia, I am not sure I should answer. It's almost unfair!
Truth is I've been riding the tops of the waves but they are going up and down into some pretty deep trenches!! Lost my mother 2 months ago, daughter estranged from me for a year for something she insists I did which I actually did not to and can't convince her and lost dad a year ago. Bronchitis twice, a scary (but not serious) car accident, a move out of my house into mom's to care for her for the past year. Began a weight loss adventure in July and almost 100 people have joined in the game on my Ning site and I've released almost 40 pounds so far. Finding the sun, the silver linings and enjoying the rain. Being amazed I'm still rational and holding on to my sense of humor.
I'm going to look at your mandalas. I love mandalas!
best wishes,
Nili

Some of your pieces made me think of this artist Batya Sagy you might enjoy her site. I loved her galleries: http://sagy-art.com/home.asp?lng=EN
